At the state championship on Feb. 28, Jankowski finished third in the 100 butterfly (48.69 seconds) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (49.74). Zeidler, who didn't start swimming competitively until his freshman year, took fifth in the 100 freestyle (45.59) and seventh in the 50 freestyle (20.84). Several other local athletes and relay teams also competed, including Castle, Jasper, North, Tell City, Southridge, and Central.
Carmel High School won the team championship for the 12th consecutive year with 408 points, followed by Penn (247) and Homestead (201).
