Dillon Mitchell, a standout track athlete at C.E. King High School, has been breaking records since his early years in the sport. The sophomore recently set the US number-one time in the 60 meters and continues to run faster than any freshman or sophomore in history. Despite his remarkable achievements, Mitchell remains grounded, stating "it's really no big deal" and that he's "just been building for it my whole life."
Coached by his father Billy since age four, Mitchell credits his dad for pushing him to compete at higher levels. "I tell him all the time, he's racing against ghosts," Billy said. While focusing on his athletic goals, Mitchell and his family emphasize enjoying his youth. "He's a kid, he enjoys being a kid," Billy noted. The talented athlete plans to compete in both football and track in college before pursuing his dream of qualifying for the 2028 Summer Olympics.
