Track Star Mitchell Eyes 2028 Olympics
Dillon Mitchell, a standout track athlete at C.E. King High School, has been breaking records since his early years in the sport. The sophomore recently set the US number-one time in the 60 meters and continues to run faster than any freshman or sophomore in history. Despite his remarkable achievements, Mitchell remains grounded, stating "it's really no big deal" and that he's "just been building for it my whole life."
Coached by his father Billy since age four, Mitchell credits his dad for pushing him to compete at higher levels. "I tell him all the time, he's racing against ghosts," Billy said. While focusing on his athletic goals, Mitchell and his family emphasize enjoying his youth. "He's a kid, he enjoys being a kid," Billy noted. The talented athlete plans to compete in both football and track in college before pursuing his dream of qualifying for the 2028 Summer Olympics.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada, Feb. 20 — Nevada's NIAA Class 5A boys basketball state championship matchup is set with the Coronado [Henderson, NV] Cougars set to take on the Liberty [Henderson, NV] Patriots.
The two teams have met once this season already back on February 2. The Patriots won that contest, 63-59, on the way to fashioning a 16-8 record to date. The Cougars, meanwhile, are 23-5, and the game is expected to be another tight affair.
Both teams failed to advance past the quarterfinals in 2024-25, and Coronado will be seeking its first state championship in boys basketball since opening in 2001. Liberty opened two years later in 2003, and the Patriots were the 2021-22 Class 5A state champions.
The game is set for 10 p.m. EST (7 p.m. PST local) at Valley High School in Las Vegas. The game will be streamed live on the NFHS Network.

Texas A&M star OL sets PFF record, could be a 2026 NFL Draft steal
Among Texas A&M's 13 NFL Scouting Combine participants, senior offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III is by far the most versatile athlete in the group, as the four-year starting left tackle brings size, strength, and most importantly, SEC experience to any future franchise in need of a potential long-term starter at either tackle, guard, or even center.
Standing 6'7" and nearly 320 pounds, Zuhn has continued to improve year after year, learning from his mistakes, while coach Mike Elko and offensive line coach Adam Cushing has only helped his NFL future over the past two offseasons, working the Coloraodo native at center, not just to test his versatility, but make sure he'll be ready to play at any spot once selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Per Pro Football Focus, Zuhn did not earn an offensive grade below 69.3 during all five seasons in College Station, while his beyond-elite 96.8 pass blocking grade, which led all offensive linemen in college football last season, is now officially the highest pass protection grade PFF has ever given a player in company history. Impressive? Of course, which further cements his future in football.
No knowing that most draft experts see Zuhn at center, whoever selects him will be getting a veteran lineman who can also serve as a left or right tackle in key pass pro downs, but if he successfully switches to center, showing potential at the position during the Senior Bowl, I expect him to stay there and contend for a starting center spot in 2026.
The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine will run from February 26 to March 1.
