Evans, who spent one season as Drake's defensive line coach, joins Rutgers' defensive staff after helping develop several productive defensive linemen. During his time at Drake, he worked with players like Jacob Auen (6 sacks), Nolan Korzeniowski (4 sacks), and Gene Blalock (4 sacks).
Evans had a standout collegiate career at Iowa, recording 135 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, and 28 sacks. He notably recorded four sacks against Rutgers in a 2022 matchup. After going undrafted, Evans briefly joined the Baltimore Ravens practice squad in 2024. He will now work under Rutgers' new defensive line coach Dennis Dottin-Carter, joining other former Drake coaches on the defensive staff.
