Finebaum Calls for Action at Trump College Sports Roundtable

Paul Finebaum says the White House roundtable on college sports must deliver real change, not just a show. He warns the sport is unsustainable and needs swift action.

Finebaum, the SEC Network host, appeared on McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning to discuss President Donald Trump’s March 6 roundtable. He urged the gathering of coaches, commissioners, and other leaders—including Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, and NBA commissioner Adam Silver—to produce tangible reforms on NIL, the transfer portal, and the sport’s structure.

Finebaum cautioned that without quick results, the meeting could become a circus. He called the event a critical moment, warning that the current environment is bordering on unsustainable and that the sport could face an inflection point if action is not taken.
