Coolidge Athletics Placed on Probation After Basketball Game Incident

Arizona's Interscholastic Association has placed Coolidge High School's entire athletics department on 365-day probation following allegations of taunting during a boys basketball playoff game.

The penalties include a playoff ban for all teams at the school, which Coolidge is appealing. The incident occurred during a game where Coolidge defeated Chinle, 64-53. Video evidence was sent to the AIA, leading to their investigation.

If upheld, Coolidge would be disqualified from postseason play in all sports for one year, including forfeiture of their scheduled 3A state semifinal game against Snowflake.
