Shaheen Afridi praises Brook, hopes NZ lose

After taking the wicket of England captain Harry Brook for a sublime century, Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi walked over to the captain, shook hands and lauded Brook’s world‑class innings. Afridi said the innings was the best he had seen and that anyone who plays like Brook deserves appreciation.

Afridi also said he hopes New Zealand lose their match, as Pakistan’s semi‑final hopes now hinge on results elsewhere. He admitted Pakistan’s batting collapse cost them the game and that the team must regroup for the next fixture.
