Vesia Returns to Mound After Daughter's Passing

Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Alex Vesia returned to the mound on Monday for his first spring training appearance since the death of his newborn daughter during last season's NLCS.

Vesia, who missed time during the Dodgers' playoff run after his daughter Sterling Sole passed away, made his first appearance on Monday. The lefty reliever went 1-2-3 with a strikeout in his spring debut.

After his return, Vesia expressed feeling good and wanting to have fun on the mound again. He also mentioned how supportive his teammates have been, saying, "I do like talking about it with the guys. These guys are my brothers. I truly do love all of them."
