Evans Predicted to Join Commanders

Sports Illustrated's Conor Orr predicts Texas A&M legend Mike Evans will join the Washington Commanders in 2026, ending his 12-year tenure with the Buccaneers.

According to Sports Illustrated, the six-time Pro Bowler could provide a significant boost to Washington's passing attack, which ranked 24th in the league last season. Evans would be the first Commanders receiver besides Deebo Samuel to crack the top 50 in receiving yards.

The move would mark Evans' first campaign not with the Buccaneers since being selected 7th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft. While other teams including the Bills and Ravens have shown interest, Orr believes Washington's salary cap flexibility and desire to build around quarterback Jayden Daniels make them the frontrunners for the 13-year veteran's services.
