Manager John Schneider confirmed the Blue Jays will ramp up rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage deliberately this spring. While the best-case scenario is for Yesavage to be ready to pitch five or more innings by opening day, the team is prepared for a slow progression starting at the MLB level.
If Yesavage begins the season with a limit of just three or four innings, the organization plans to utilize long relievers to cover the gap.
