Israel qualified for the 2026 World Baseball Classic by finishing fourth in its group in 2026, and the hope this time around is for an even better showing in a tough group that includes the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.

Newly-signed Giants OF Harrison Bader and Pirates 1B Spencer Horwitz anchor the lineup for Israel, while Orioles P Dean Kremer remains the team's top starter after he pitched in the 2023 tournament.

Other notable MLB names include relievers Tommy Kahnle and Eli Morgan, giving Israel some experience in the bullpen against some loaded offenses. The action for Israel starts on March 7 against Venezuela.

Here's a look at Israel's 2026 World Baseball Classic schedule, including how to watch the games.

Luis sacked after Flamengo 8-0 win

Luis, 40, guided Flamengo to seven titles in 100 matches in charge since joining in September 2024, including the 2025 Copa Libertadores. He became the ninth man to win the competition both as a player and coach, having previously lifted the trophy twice with Flamengo in 2019 and 2022.

The dismissal came despite the club's success, with Flamengo posting a statement confirming Luis, assistant coach Ivan Palanco, and physical trainer Diogo Linhares are all leaving after the 11-0 aggregate victory over Madureira. The club will face Fluminense in Sunday's final, though Luis won't be in charge.
