Former Auburn star has high praise for new Georgia DL

Former Auburn Tigers defensive lineman Keldric Faulk recently had some high praise for new Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Amaris Williams.

Williams was widely regarded as one of the top defensive lineman available in the transfer portal this offseason. Faulk and Williams were teammates at Auburn, as each player was elite in their roles on the Tigers’ defense in 2025. Williams recorded 14 total tackles and 2 sacks last season, as the newest member of the Dawgs’ defensive line will more than likely begin to shine with an increased role in Athens.

Williams was ranked as the No. 4 edge rusher and the No. 36 overall player in the transfer portal, per 247Sports Transfer rankings. Faulk spoke very highly of Williams, as the former Auburn star mentioned Williams’ elite athleticism and true NFL potential. At 6-foot-2, 260 pounds, Williams is an extremely promising playmaker that could quickly begin to make a major impact throughout his first season on the Dawgs’ defense.

“Amaris (Williams) is probably one of the most freakish athletic players I’ve ever seen in my life.” Faulk stated. “He is athletically gifted, and once he puts it all together he’s going to be one of the guys you are talking to next (at the NFL combine).”

Georgia added a multitude of playmakers from the transfer portal in addition to Williams, but none may prove to have a larger impact than the former Auburn Tiger in 2026. Williams has an excellent get off at the snap and his quickness will be disruptive for opposing offenses.
