Marathe stands down as Rangers vice-chair

Rangers have confirmed Paraag Marathe is standing down as vice-chairman of the Scottish Premiership club.

The American, who came in as part of the San Francisco 49ers Enterprise consortium last summer, is also the chairman of Premier League club Leeds United.

He, along with Gene Schneur, who is also a Leeds director, are standing down after discussions with European football's governing body, Uefa, about multi-club ownership rules.

Rangers say the move does not have any impact of the 49ers' investment at Ibrox and there are no current plans to replace them.
