Chargers Players Give Jim Harbaugh Poor Score on Survey

Multiple Los Angeles Chargers players are not satisfied with head coach Jim Harbaugh after the 2025 season.

The NFL Players Association conducted a survey during the 2025 season to assess players’ satisfaction of certain areas of each NFL organization. The survey collected responses from 1,759 players, all of which were part of an NFL roster between Nov. 2 to Dec. 11.

The Miami Dolphins received the best scores on the annual report card. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers organization ranked last for the first time since the survey’s inception four years ago.

The Chargers finished right in the middle of the pack at No. 15.

What Areas Did The Chargers Give A Low Score?

One of the most glaring parts of the Chargers’ survey responses was that Harbaugh received a “C+” from the players. He was one of just four coaches in the NFL to receive below a “B” from his players.

The other three coaches to receive low grades were former Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski (C-), former New York Giants coach Brian Daboll (C) and former Las Vegas Raiders coach Pete Caroll (C+).

All three of those coaches have since been fired from their head coaching roles.

In addition to Harbaugh, Chargers players gave “C” grades to the organization’s treatment of families, SoFi Stadium and position coaches. Former offensive coordinator Greg Roman received the lowest score of all categories, earning a “D-” from the players.

The Chargers have since replaced Roman with Mike McDaniel.

What Areas Did The Chargers Give A High Score?

On a more positive note, the Chargers players gave multiple areas of the organization high scores.

Most of the Chargers’ facilities like the locker room, training room and weight room received an “A-“. Some of the organization’s staff like the nutritionist/dietician, training staff, team ownership and special teams coordinator also received “A-” grades.

The highest grade received in the survey was an “A+” for former Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter.

Minter recently departed the franchise to take on his first NFL head coaching job with the Baltimore Ravens in January. Los Angeles has replaced him with Chris O’Leary.
