Ohtani Returns to Dodgers as DH

Despite Ohtani's return as a hitter, manager Dave Roberts indicated it's increasingly unlikely the two-way superstar will pitch again this season. Ohtani hasn't pitched since July 3 and hasn't thrown since a bullpen session on Aug. 28. 'We've put a pin in throwing,' Roberts said. 'It's not dead but we have no timetable for when he's going to pick up a baseball.' mchezo.life

The NL West-leading Dodgers won all four games during Ohtani's absence, including a sweep of Washington. Roberts hopes focusing on hitting will help Ohtani get back on track after he batted just .250 with eight homers and 22 RBIs since the All-Star break.
