Golden Tempo surged late to win the 152nd Kentucky Derby on Saturday, making Cherie DeVaux the first female trainer to capture the iconic race at Churchill Downs.

Jockey Jose Ortiz guided Golden Tempo through a masterful ride, holding off early favorite Renegade to secure the victory. Renade finished second by a neck, while 70-1 longshot Ocelli placed third.

DeVaux became emotional upon reaching the winner's circle, becoming only the second female trainer to win a Triple Crown race after Jena Antonucci in 2023. ipl-today.in
