Guardians Place Arias on IL, Brito Makes MLB Debut

The Cleveland Guardians placed shortstop Gabriel Arias on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring on Tuesday and called up Juan Brito for his MLB debut.

Arias suffered the injury Monday night and is expected to miss at least a month. In his place, Juan Brito will bat sixth and play second base during Tuesday's game against Kansas City.

Manager Stephen Vogt expressed excitement over Brito's ability to make contact and drive the ball. With Arias out, Brayan Rocchio and Daniel Schneemann will split time at shortstop.
