Flagg Scores 45 in Near Triple-Double Against Lakers

Cooper Flagg delivered 45 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists against the Los Angeles Lakers, becoming the first rookie with back-to-back 40-point games since Allen Iverson in 1997.

The Mavericks rookie followed up his 51-point performance against Orlando with another stellar game. In the last two contests, Flagg has scored 96 points while shooting 57.8% from the field (33-57) and 53.3% from three (8-15).

His offensive emergence comes after many initially compared him to defensive star Andrei Kirilenko. The phenomenal performance adds excitement to the Rookie of the Year race between Flagg and his former Duke teammate Kon Knueppel as the season winds down.
