Paula Badosa earns Linz Open wild card after Charleston run

Badosa, who dropped out of the top 100 before Charleston, posted back‑to‑back wins over Kayla Day and Maria Sakkari before falling to Anna Kalinskaya in straight sets. The result earned her a wild card for the inaugural WTA 250 in Linz, Austria, which runs from April 6‑12.

With only eight top‑40 players in the draw and several withdrawals—including Emma Raducanu, Clara Tauson and Daria Kasatkina—Badosa sees the tournament as a chance to play freely and boost her ranking. She joins fellow wild‑card entrants Mirra Andreeva, Alexandra Eala, Ekaterina Alexandrova and Jelena Ostapenko.
