Super Formula Returns to Standard Format for 2026 Season

Super Formula has reverted to uniform race distances and fixed pit windows for its 2026 season, ending the unorthodox format used last year.

The Japanese single-seater series announced that both races on double-header weekends will run the same lap count. Additionally, a standard pit window will be reintroduced for all events, replacing the previous exception for Sunday races at Sugo and Autopolis.

Super Formula also confirmed a three-stage knockout qualifying system for the single-header races at Sugo and Autopolis. Furthermore, the series confirmed it will maintain a fuel flow limit of 90kg/h for the upcoming season.
