Michigan, Duke, Arizona, Iowa State Earn Top 1-Seeds

Michigan is the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament, joining Duke, Arizona, and Iowa State as the top-ranked teams in the preliminary rankings.

Selection committee chairman Keith Gill revealed that Michigan, Duke, Arizona, and Iowa State are the 1-seeds. Gill explained the committee separated the top three teams, with Iowa State edging out UConn and Houston for the final spot due to a head-to-head win and superior three best wins.

UConn and Houston are the fifth and sixth seeds, followed by Illinois and Purdue as 2-seeds. Reigning national champion Florida leads the 3-seeds at No. 9, while Texas Tech, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, and Virginia round out the top 16.
