Local Wrestlers Punch Tickets to State

Several local wrestlers punched their tickets to the state championships with strong performances at the district meet.

Warrenton led the charge with five state qualifiers, finishing fourth overall with 163.5 points. Rayce Sturgell (120 lbs), Javen Zepeda (126 lbs), and Finley Marshall (132 lbs) qualified in the lower weights, while Sean Irwin claimed the 190 lbs championship and Devon Sturgell finished as runner-up.

Astoria's Beau Smith (144 lbs), M. J Brito (215 lbs), and Adrian Balli (285 lbs) all won their weight classes, while Knappa freshman Logan Wells finished second at 132 lbs. Seaside's Brayden Cooley captured the 157 lbs title, with Henry Rollins and Carlos Silva-Villa each earning second place in their respective divisions.
