Daboll, formally introduced as the Titans' OC on Feb. 18, had previously pursued Ward while with the Giants, making multiple visits and even having dinners with Ward and his family. The coordinator sees Ward's athleticism and ability to make plays on the move as assets rather than issues, distancing himself from former coaching staff who emphasized Ward needed to improve playing within the system.
'I'm comfortable with his mechanics,' Daboll said, noting he has studied all of Ward's tape from college through his rookie season. While he wouldn't discuss specific schematic plans, Daboll expressed excitement to begin working with Ward once the offseason program starts in April, leveraging his experience developing Josh Allen in Buffalo to help Ward improve.
