Shokalook Signs MLS Contract After Next Pro Success

Erie native Jason Shokalook has signed an MLS contract through 2026 with options for 2027-2028 after an impressive MLS Next Pro season where he won the Golden Boot.

Shokalook, who was selected 35th overall by Chicago Fire in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, had a breakthrough 2025 season in MLS Next Pro. The 22-year-old forward scored a league-high 20 goals and was named a finalist for the league's MVP award before making his MLS debut against D.C. United.

Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Shokalook traveled extensively for soccer and hockey as a child before playing college soccer at the University of Akron. His journey from Pennsylvania youth soccer to the professional ranks culminates with his new MLS contract after impressing in the reserve league.
