Federal prosecutors have expanded their case against former NBA player Terry Rozier, adding a bribery charge to the existing indictment. Rozier now faces allegations of agreeing to a $100,000 bribe to manipulate his performance in an NBA game, in addition to the previously filed charges of honest services wire fraud conspiracy.
Rozier's attorney maintains the new charges represent "a sad effort to make something stick" and has filed a motion to dismiss the fraud charges based on a 2023 Supreme Court case. The government's theory claims Rozier shared inside information with someone who used it for winning wagers but failed to disclose the same information to sportsbooks. afsport.lat
