Former driver David Coulthard believes Kimi Antonelli has 'earned the right' to lead the Formula 1 championship after the Mercedes star took the top spot.

Antonelli, 19, secured the championship lead following consecutive victories at the Chinese and Japanese Grands Prix, becoming the youngest driver in series history to top the standings.
