Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli and actor-wife Anushka Sharma set social media ablaze after celebrating the franchise’s IPL 2026 triumph with an impromptu dance on the field following the final in Ahmedabad. chickenroad-game.rodeo

The heartwarming moment, captured in a video shared by RCB, quickly went viral and became one of the most talked-about highlights of the championship celebrations.

RCB successfully defended their IPL crown with a five-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Chasing 156, Kohli led from the front with an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls, helping the Bengaluru franchise clinch its second consecutive title.

Soon after the winning runs were scored, Kohli was seen celebrating with teammates and family members. In the viral clip posted by RCB, the former India captain danced alongside Anushka Sharma, while members of the squad, including Dinesh Karthik, joined in the festivities.

Fans flooded social media with reactions, praising the couple’s chemistry and the emotional scenes from the title-winning night.

Speaking after the victory, Kohli described the moment as the fulfilment of a dream. The 37-year-old batter also credited the emergence of fearless young players for pushing him to evolve his approach in T20 cricket.

“Such is the demand, super young players are pushing you to up the ante. I had to change my mindset,” Kohli said after the match.

The veteran batter also highlighted RCB’s collective effort throughout the season, noting that different players stepped up at crucial moments, reducing the team’s dependence on a single individual.

Kohli finished the final unbeaten and capped off another memorable IPL campaign with a celebration that resonated far beyond the cricket field. As RCB celebrated a historic title defence, it was the dance between Kohli and Anushka that became the defining image of the night for millions of fans online.

Virat Kohli reinvents his T20 game with change in mindset, pushing from ‘super young’ players

Indian superstar Virat Kohli said he needed a change in mindset and a bit of pushing from “super young” players to reinvent his T20 game after he smashed his fastest IPL fifty to power Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their second successive trophy.

In the IPL final against Gujarat Titans on Sunday, he fulfilled his long-cherished dream of hitting the winning runs for the franchise.

Kohli’s unbeaten 75 was the cornerstone of RCB’s second IPL title and the legend couldn’t be more pleased with the amount of consistency he showed throughout the season.

“(It is the) stuff you dream of. (I) thought of this moment many times, wanting to hit the winning run,” Kohli said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Asked about his 25-ball half-century, Kohli showed why he eternally remains a student of the game.

“Such is the demand (that) super young players (are) pushing you to up the ante,” he said in jest, but the seriousness of his statement wasn”t lost on anyone.

“I had to change my mindset, not my game so much, take on bowlers and get extra runs,” he added.

What has pleased Kohli this season is the fact that in the first 10 games, there were eight different cricketers who won the Player of the Match award.

“We”ve had to wait for so long and then just to have a group of guys where you feel like you”re stepping onto the ground, you don’t need to be the one to step up every time,” Kohli said.

“These guys are behind you (and) around you, who can win games of cricket for you. We have so many Man of the Match awards spread throughout the group as well.”

“You look at world-class bowling of Hoff (Josh Hazlewood), Bhuv (Bhuvneshwar Kumar), Duff (Jacob Duffy), and Krunal Pandya – you can bank on him as good as ever – Rasikh (Salam) Dar was brilliant this season,” Kohli said.

The kind of team that RCB management put on the park during the last two seasons has made the difference, feels Kohli.

“I felt really relaxed coming in. The team we have gives confidence to see any kind of situation through. (We) knew exactly what to do in the chase.”

Very carefully, he also spoke about how they didn” care which team was in the opposition but at the same time, there was respect for each and every other opponent.

“Our first target was to go top of the table. We didn”t care what jersey was in front of us thereon. We are respectful, don”t poke any team. We have mature professionals and experience shines through.”

For him, on big days, it is the duty of the stars to pull the team through.

“Come the big situation, you need the big boys to step up. I know it’s a chase and they’ll look to get me out early, but I knew we have a champion side that can chase it down with 3-4 overs to go.”

Having missed the bus for 17 seasons, Kohli remembers what Director of Cricket Mo Bobat told them after their maiden win in 2025.

“When we won last year, Mo Bobat said this is not the end of the journey and we had to go back-to-back. At the start of the chase, I told Venky (Venkatesh Iyer) that we need to kill the game in the powerplay. There was total clarity.”

Kohli said the final this year felt a lot different than last year.

“I said to a few of the boys that it doesn”t feel like the same pressure as last year, we knew what kind of ability we have in the group,” he said.

“We topped the table, there’s a reason why we got here first and we just said one thing, ‘if we stick to our cricket, if we execute our plans, we are the best team in the competition’ and there”s a reason why we”ve done well so far.”

Kohli said RCB were tested after a short break for them in the season, but a close victory over Mumbai Indians in Raipur instilled the belief back in the group.

“After the break, we had a couple of losses… I mean, one loss, and then we had a close win against MI,” he said.

“I’d say that week for us was a bit tricky because we wanted to finish top, but as soon as we got there, (with the) win against MI, the belief kicked back in, then we had a comprehensive win against KKR and then, yeah, just ended up topping the table and just on our way to the finals,” Kohli said.

He also gave due credit to the loyal fans of RCB.

“We have 14 home games, not seven, we have fans behind us all the time… 90 per cent fans are on our side despite it being GT’s home ground.”

Chasemaster Virat Kohli`s half-century helps RCB clinch the second title

Star batter Virat Kohli brought all his experience to the fore as he used his willow to perfection, guiding Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their second straight Indian Premier League title at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Sunday.

Kohli constructed a brilliant unbeaten 75 off 42 balls as the defending champions beat Gujarat Titans by five wickets. The opener’s innings was laced with nine fours and three sixes. Kohli did not let the pressure get to him despite RCB losing Devdutt Padikkal (1), Rajat Patidar (15), and Krunal Pandya (1) in the middle phase.

Earlier, RCB bowlers did well to first restrict a lethargic GT to a below-par 155-8 after putting them in to bat.

Shot-making was not exactly an easy proposition on the pitch No. 6 here, a mix of red and black soil, and it aptly reflected in the GT batting. Washington Sundar resisted the trend with an unbeaten 50 off 37 balls (5x4s), but the damage around him was far too big to mitigate. The fatigue of playing Qualifier 2 on Friday and a delayed departure because of inclement weather at Mullanpur also might have added to their list of woes. But none of that should not take any credit away from the RCB bowlers, who, more often than not, found the correct lengths on this deck.

GT needed skipper Shubman Gill and his opening partner B Sai Sudharsan to fire upfront, but they failed in that endeavour. A steady beginning was not alien to GT openers, but Gill’s swat off Josh Hazlewood (2-37) took the leading edge of his bat to create a simple catch for his opposite number Rajat Patidar.
Sudharsan, who was once saved by DRS from being caught behind off Jacob Duffy, did not last long either. The left-hander’s woeful pull off a well-directed high and wide bouncer by Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2-29) did not travel beyond a running-in stumper Jitesh Sharma.

After losing their two main batters, who have amassed over 700 runs each this season, the GT batting lost its rudders, ending an underwhelming Power Play phase at 45 for two, and there was no real fire or purpose in the rest of the batters to enact a recovery act.

Young RCB pacer Rasikh Salam Dhar (3-27) continued his impressive run behind lead bowlers Bhuvneshwar and Hazlewood, picked up the wickets of an out-of-sync Nishant Sindhu (20 off 18 balls) and Rahul Tewatia as the home side lost the cream of its batting line-up even before reaching 100.

Charani backs India women to fight back after loss in 2nd T20I

Left-arm spinner Sree Charani admitted that a victory in the second women`s T20I against England would have been a confidence booster for India, adding that the team is now focused on embracing the challenge of clinching the series decider. Hosts England levelled the three-match series 1-1 with a 26-run victory in the second T20I on Saturday after India had won the opening match by 38 runs earlier in the week.

The series serves as a crucial preparation for the women`s T20 World Cup that begins in England and Wales on June 12. "I think every match is important for us to win, to get confidence or to get something out of the match. If we had won here, I think we were two wins, so it would have given us more confidence," Charani said at the post-match press conference.

"I think now we have a good challenge ahead for us, so I think we`ll take it," she added. Despite India`s defeat, the young left-arm spinner was one of the standout performers, claiming three key wickets. Her victims included opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge, wicketkeeper batter Amy Jones and former captain Heather Knight. Charani said her success came from sticking to her strengths rather than trying anything extraordinary.

"I am just trying to bowl to my strength, that`s it, not much, I am not trying anything, just sequence bowling. I think turning the ball is my key strength." After the third and final T20I in Taunton on Tuesday, the Indian team will play two warm up games in Cardiff on June 8 and 10. The Women in Blue will open their T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan on June 14.
