“We wish to inform you that the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has invaded the course and taken over access to the Front Nine, from Hole No. 2 through to Hole No. 9. KFS is claiming that this section of the course falls within Karura Forest,” Mwirigi stated.

“The Board is seized of the matter and is trying its level best to resolve the situation as urgently as possible. In the meantime, the Front Nine (Holes No. 2–9) is NOT available or accessible for members’ use until further notice. Please note that the Range and parking are not affected. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience, understanding and cooperation as the Club works to resolve this matter,” the Captain added.

KFS deployed armed rangers with guard dogs, making it inaccessible to members.

The Club, one of Kenya’s oldest clubs, recently hosted the annual Patron’s Cup.

Allende: Losing League Title Has Fuelled Sundowns’ Hunger

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Marcelo Allende says the pain of losing the Betway Premiership title last season has fuelled the club’s hunger to reclaim the trophy and compete for silverware on all fronts this campaign.

The Brazilians’ run of winning eight consecutive league titles came to an end last season after Orlando Pirates were crowned 2025-26 champions.

Sundowns were crowned Kings of Africa after they lifted the CAF Champions League trophy, while also qualifying for the 2026 FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

The Chilean insists Sundowns have set themselves clear targets domestically and internationally, with the MTN8 final, Super Cup, Intercontinental, league, Carling Knockout and Nedbank Cup all firmly in their sights.

“It was painful [to lose the league] and I think that has helped us a little bit to get the hunger so we can get back our trophy,” said Allende on Sundowns TV as per IDiskiTimes.

“We put it on target this year that we have to play and win the local competitions in South Africa.

“Last year we struggled a little bit in that path. But what I said to you we put it on target to play finals and win.

“We already have MTN8 final, Super Cup, Intercontinental, the league is also important for us, of course the Carling Knockout and Nedbank.”

Three areas the Springboks could improve after All Blacks series win

The Springboks produced a near-perfect performance in their 43-28 win over the All Blacks in the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series decider in Baltimore.

But the All Blacks, while not at their best, posed an attacking threat that exposed weaknesses in the Springboks’ strategy, leaving the hosts scrambling to recover from an opening defeat to save the series.

The Springboks have certainly addressed these problems.

But they will want to consolidate these areas if they are to enjoy continued success – especially with different personnel when the coaches return to their rotational policy.

Finishing opportunities

Rassie Erasmus stressed that scoring tries was not the only way to win a game, and the Springboks had learned from their many failed attacks in the first Test to take the three points on offer when they could.

But the Springboks would not have been happy with their inability to finish from attacking positions.

South Africa only scored more tries than New Zealand in the fourth Test. And overall, the All Blacks scored 17 tries to the Springboks’ 14.

The All Blacks never scored fewer than four tries in a game in the series.

Sometimes there are small margins, and sometimes it is the work of the defence – such as the All Blacks frustrating the breakdown in the first Test – but the Boks will know that no number of attacks created on the back of strong set-pieces will succeed unless the players have the skill set and composure to finish.

Kurt-Lee Arendse’s individual effort turned the tide for South Africa in the fourth Test. But they will need to double down on attacking drills when they face more cohesive and less injury-hit opposition.

Defence

As probably inferred from the previous point, conceding 17 tries in four matches highlights a need to address the defence system.

The Springboks rang the changes for the second Test, with returning regular captain Siya Kolisi among those called on to compete at the breakdown and defend the wider channels.

Granted, the All Blacks have a fearless high-tempo attack under Dave Rennie. Few teams would have fared better.

The Boks defended better, and scrambled in defence more from the second Test. But several missed tackles leave room for improvement.

They will next be tested by an attack-minded Wallabies side when the teams meet in a one-off Test in Perth next Sunday.

Breakdowns

As mentioned, the All Blacks slowed the Springbok attack down considerably and won the ball on occasion at the breakdown in the first Test.

Erasmus’ initial response was that they had not expected the All Blacks to try to rip the ball so often in contact, having usually chopped players at the legs in tackles or gone over for an attempted turnover in the past.

Some personnel changes and work in training fixed this so that the Springboks increasingly dominated collisions and the breakdowns in the series.

Still, this is one of the few areas the Boks could keep an eye on after the series.

Wallabies ‘up for the fight’ with Boks

Coach Les Kiss admits the Wallabies will need to step up a level when they face the Springboks in Perth.

Seventh-ranked Australia are unbeaten in four Tests under Kiss, with two wins against Japan followed by a win and a draw against Argentina.

Having watched the Boks battle the All Blacks over four Tests in Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry, Kiss knows what awaits his team at the 61,00-capacity Optus Stadium on Sunday, 27 September.

“The intensity and the physicality of the matches, we’re a little bit removed from that,” he said.

“Certainly, over the last four games, we’ve had some good, intense matches but we’re certainly stepping up another level when we come up against Springboks in a fortnight.

“We’re aware of that. We know we have to be better in certain areas, and we’re working hard to make sure we can improve in that.

“But, look, they’re in our backyard, so we’ll be up for the fight.”

MORE: Former Wallabies look for Boks’ weak link

Kiss has included uncapped flyhalf Harry McLaughlin-Phillips in his squad after Carter Gordon fractured his leg against Argentina.

The 22-year-old was preferred despite experienced options James O’Connor, Bernard Foley and Noah Lolesio also being considered.

“We did our due diligence, that’s for sure, and it landed that Harry had earned this right, and he’s waiting on our doorstep,” Kiss said.

“These younger guys, we’re trying to make sure we get them upskilled, get them to understand how they can lead the game and drive it forward.

“And we know that we can always lean back into the experience if we need to.”

Utility back Jordan Petaia has also been recalled three years after his last Wallabies squad involvement.

The 26-year-old failed to crack the NFL with the Los Angeles Chargers before playing for French club Perpignan and recently joining Japan’s Urayasu D-Rocks.

“We just wanted to have a touch base with him,” said Kiss. “There’s a lot of good back three players in our country at the moment that are playing here.

“Jordy being a bit further away in France recently, we just felt it was an opportunity to bring him in and have a good look at him.”
