À Madagascar, deux nouveaux décès inexpliqués sèment l’effroi. Le corps d’une femme de 27 ans a été retrouvé le 21 juillet dans la région Fianarantsoa, au lendemain de la découverte le 20 juillet de la dépouille d’un étudiant de 22 ans dans une rivière en périphérie d’Antananarivo. Leurs proches avaient signalé leurs disparitions sur les réseaux sociaux. Dans ce contexte, de nombreuses voix de la société civile ont pris la parole mardi, reprochant à l’État son impuissance face à la vague de disparitions et de crimes qui touche Madagascar depuis début juillet.

“At Cricket NSW, we are strong advocates for safe driving, not drink-driving,” he said.

Hill said at the May hearing that Warner knew what he had done was wrong. “He accepts that was a reckless decision, a foolish decision to get in his car instead of taking an Uber.”

“It’s not a crime to have a glass of wine on the day of the lord’s resurrection. In fact, some would consider that completely appropriate,” he added.

“His crime is, as I said, choosing a foolish plan A instead of a plan B.”

Coach Mike Vowles has made one enforced change to the Sharks XV starting lineup for Friday’s Currie Cup clash against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.

Danio Botha replaces Jannes Potgieter, who suffered a knee injury early in last week’s 26-24 win against the Pumas in Nelspruit, at blindside flank.

Botha, whose primary postion is lock, featured for UCT in the Varsity Cup and Western Province in the SA Rugby U21 Cup last year.

The only other change sees Bryce Calvert replace Jacques Marais as the reserve hooker.

“We haven’t made many changes, we feel that the more the team plays together, the better we’re going to get,” Vowles said.

“We’ve brought in Danio, who joined us from the Stormers. He played his age-group rugby down there and we see him as a player with massive potential.

“He’s incredibly physical and, given some time in our system, I think he’s going to be really good for us and someone to watch.”

Vowles expects a stern test from the Cheetahs, who edged the Lions 29-27 at the Free State Stadium last week.

“They’re a settled team who have played a lot of rugby together, they have some experienced players in their group and we anticipate a physical battle from them.

“But having seen what our group can do, I have no doubt we’ll be able to match them physically.”

Arrivé à l’académie de Manchester City à l’âge de huit ans, Foden poursuit son histoire avec son club de cœur. Malgré une saison plus compliquée sur le plan individuel, les dirigeants mancuniens ont choisi de renouveler leur confiance à l’international anglais, considéré comme l’un des piliers du projet sportif.

Le joueur de 25 ans s’est réjoui de poursuivre son aventure à l’Etihad Stadium, où il espère enrichir un palmarès déjà impressionnant et continuer à jouer un rôle majeur dans les ambitions du club.

Manchester City prépare l’avenir

Cette prolongation s’inscrit dans la volonté de Manchester City de conserver l’ossature de son effectif. Malgré les nombreuses sollicitations dont il a pu faire l’objet ces derniers mois, Phil Foden reste un élément central du projet des Skyblues.

Avec ce nouveau bail, le club envoie un signal fort en sécurisant l’avenir de l’un de ses joueurs emblématiques, appelé à occuper un rôle encore plus important dans les prochaines saisons.
