Former PSL superstar finds new home in North Africa!
Former PSL and Mamelodi Sundowns superstar Lucas Ribeiro Costa has finally found a new home in North Africa. cricket-info.homes
On Thursday, African football powerhouse Esperance Sportive de Tunis announced the acquisition of Ribeiro Costa.
Ribeiro Costa had been linked with a number of African clubs after becoming a free agent at the end of last season.
The left-footed attacker then signed on the dotted line with Libyan giants Al-Ittihad Tripoli but he has since moved to Esperance.
He had a change of heart soon after the departure of coach Rulani Mokwena who was instrumental in bringing him to Libya.
Ribeiro Costa joins Esperance on a three-year deal in a swap deal that will see Jacques Diarra move in the opposite direction.

“Last night, the vice president of the Tunisian sports club Esperance, Shakeri Al-Wa’ar, traveled to Libya to complete the procedures for the transfer of the Brazilian player Lucas Ribeiro to our club,” reads the statement.
“This morning, a meeting was held with a delegation from the Tunisian sports club, led by Shakeri Al-Wa’ar, and a delegation from the Libyan club, led by the executive director Abdelmajid Saleh, to finalize all the arrangements for this process.
“This is thanks to the Tunisian sports club, headed by the club president, Mr. Hamdi Madab, and his brother from the Libyan club, the Union of Libya, for their warm reception and treatment, which paves the way for further strengthening of relations and cooperation in the coming phase.”

Kenyan youngster eyes success in senior ranks after gold medal at World Under 20 Championships
NAIROBI, Kenya, August 13, 2026 – Not merely content with being a World Under 20 champion, Franklin Kibet has earmarked the 2027 World Championships in Beijing and the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028 as his next stomping ground.
The 19-year-old says he wants to add to his medal collection with an outstanding performances at the two major competitions.
“From next year I will be moving to the senior ranks and I want to do my ultimate best. By the grace of God, I hope to make the team for the World Championships and make the podium. I also want to be at the Los Angeles Olympics,” Kibet said.
Kibet clocked 13:28.27 to win Kenya’s first gold at the age-grade championships, his second title in less than a year after clinching the World Cross Country Championships in the under 20 men’s category in Florida.
The youngster also finished second in the men’s 5000m at the Kip Keino Classic at the Nyayo Stadium, clocking 13:10.70.

Après avoir découvert la BJK Cup hier mercredi, Amahée Charrier et Emira Diabaté ont enchainé des victoires, ouvrant ainsi les chances d'obtenir une promotion.
A 12h, Charrier a pris le dessus sur Claudia Sumaia. Malgré un début de jeu poussif, la numéro 2 ivoirienne s'est rapidement reprise pour gagner en deux sets (1-6, 0-6). De son côté, la numéro 1 ivoirienne a dû batailler pour ne pas laisser filer la victoire. Elle a fini par prendre les devants contre Leticia Zandamela (1-6, 0-6) en 1h17 minutes.
En double, elles ont également mis fins aux espoirs de qualifications du Mozambique. Les filles se sont rapidement imposées en deux sets (1-6, 1-6). Exemptées demain, elles profiteront pour se reposer avant d'attaquer la rencontre fatidique.
"L'adversaire était à la hauteur. C'est plutôt les filles qui ont bien joué. Nous sommes qualifiés pour les play-offs donc nous jouerons le samedi contre le vainqueur de l'autre poule. Et nous espérons vraiment nous qualifier pour le Groupe III", nous a confié le capitaine, Gétème Koffi.
Samedi, les Eléphantes affronteront le vainqueur de la confrontation entre l'Ethiopie et le Bénin pour le barrage de promotion.
