Du Preez leaves Kaizer Chiefs, rejoins Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch FC have announced the signing of Ashley Du Preez on a permanent transfer from Kaizer Chiefs in a deal that sees the Idas Valley-born star return for a second spell at the club.
Du Preez started his professional career with Stellies in 2016 and made 98 appearances across all competitions for the club before joining Chiefs ahead of the 2022/23 season.
And after spending four years with Amakhosi, the 29-year-old has now made a sensational return to the Winelands after penning a new long-term deal with the Maroons.

“I always knew that I would come back to Stellenbosch,” Du Preez said. “It’s great to be back where I grew up and at the Club where it all started for me, and to be part of the Stellenbosch family again.
“The community knows me well and has supported me since the start of my professional career, so being a local player and representing the Club again is a huge honour and privilege for me. It’s an amazing feeling to be back.”
Stellenbosch FC CEO, Rob Benadie, is also happy to welcome Du Preez back to the club.
“Ashley has always held a special relationship with this Club and the Stellenbosch community, so we are incredibly excited to bring him home.
“He is also an exceptional footballer who has consistently proven his quality in the Betway Premiership over a number of years, and we believe he will add enormous value to our squad both on and off the field.”
Du Preez has been handed the iconic No. 10 jersey for the 2026-27 season and could make his debut when Stellies take on Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership next Tuesday.

Mali : Human Rights Watch met en cause Africa Corps
L’ONG Human Rights Watch a enquêté sur les frappes aériennes menées par Africa Corps à Kyrnia, dans la région de Mopti. Ces frappes, survenues le 15 juin dernier, ont tué huit civils. Selon l’organisation, aucun combattant du JNIM ne figure parmi les victimes, contrairement aux affirmations des partenaires russes de l’armée malienne. Siya back for fully-loaded Boks
Rassie Erasmus has recalled seven experienced Springboks for Saturday’s Test against Argentina in Buenos Aires, with regular skipper Siya Kolisi named in the match 23.
Kolisi takes back the captain’s armband, with locks Eben Etzebeth and Lood de Jager, flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and scrumhalf Morné van den Berg also all coming back from injury.
Centre André Esterhuizen and outside back Ethan Hooker, who picked up niggles during the Nations Championship last month, also return.

The starting XV carries 13 changes from the lineup that beat Wales in the Boks’ last outing.
Seven players from that 43-0 victory in Durban retain their places in the 23, though only two – fullback Aphelele Fassi and scrumhalf Cobus Reinach – start.
The other five, Jan-Hendrik Wessels, Ben-Jason Dixon, Marco van Staden, Cobus Wiese and Gerhard Steenekamp, have been named among the replacements in a 6-2 split.
Van den Berg and Handré Pollard are the backline cover on the bench.

Erasmus has fielded an entirely new front five. Boan Venter and Thomas du Toit pack down alongside Johan Grobbelaar in the front row, with Etzebeth partnering De Jager at lock. Kolisi, Elrigh Louw and Cameron Hanekom form the loose trio.
In the backline, Reinach and Feinberg-Mngomezulu combine at halfback, while Esterhuizen lines up alongside Canan Moodie in midfield.
Hooker, Edwill van der Merwe and Fassi complete an exciting back three.

Springbok stalwarts return for Argentina rumble
Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus named a host of returning stalwarts in his match 23 for their one-off Test against Argentina at the Estadio José Amalfitani in Buenos Aires on Saturday night, including captain Siya Kolisi, Eben Etzebeth, Lood de Jager and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu.
In the announcement released on Tuesday a slew of other players also returned from injury, including scrumhalf Morne van den Berg, who will play off the bench, as well as Andre Esterhuizen, Ethan Hooker, Canan Moodie, and Handre Pollard.
The starting team shows 13 changes to the side that ran out against Wales in the Boks’ last Test in Durban.

The starting team includes a completely new pack, with Boan Venter and Thomas du Toit packing down in the front row with Johan Grobbelaar, while Etzebeth will join forces with De Jager at lock, with Kolisi, Elrigh Louw, and Cameron Hanekom taking over the reins in the loose trio.
In the backline, Reinach and Feinberg-Mngomezulu are the halfbacks, while Esterhuizen will partner Canan Moodie in the midfield. Hooker, Edwill van der Merwe, and Fassi form an exciting back three.
“This match is the perfect occasion for players like Siya, Eben, Lood, Sacha, Morne and the other players returning from injury to get a tough Test under the belt and get back into full swing at international level, as Argentina are a formidable team, who will push us to the limit,” said Erasmus.
“The guys have been working very hard to return from injury and there is no better test to measure where they are than facing the Pumas in Argentina.
“The other players in the squad also all deserve their places and have been waiting patiently as we tested combinations in the last few matches, and one can sense the excitement in the group to get back onto the field.”
