His departure had been expected only for a change of heart at boardroom level. Ishockey: Narvik-treneren slutter

Fredrik Glader gir seg som trener i ishockeyklubben Narvik.
Det bekrefter klubben onsdag. Glader hadde opprinnelig kontrakt ut også neste sesong, men slutter som følge av personlige årsaker.
– Når jeg kjenner at jeg ikke lenger har den siste energien som kreves for å gjøre jobben på den måten jeg selv forventer, ønsker jeg å være ærlig overfor klubben, menneskene i og rundt den, og mot meg selv. Derfor har jeg kommet fram til at det er riktig tidspunkt å overlate ansvaret til noen andre, sier Glader.
Svenske Glader ble kåret til årets trener i eliteserien sist sesong. Da ledet han Narvik til en sterk femteplass. I NM-kvartfinalen ble det exit mot Stavanger Oilers.
– Fredrik har gjort en solid jobb for oss, og vi har hatt tre gode år sammen. Både klubben og Fredrik har utviklet seg positivt i denne perioden, og det er vi takknemlige for. Vi respekterer hans ønske om å avslutte arbeidsforholdet, selv om vi gjerne skulle ha sett at han fullførte kontrakten ut sesongen 2026/2027, sier styreleder Marius Larsen.
Glader kom til Narvik i 2023/24. Det er ikke kjent hva som blir 48-åringens neste jobb. Glader har tidligere vært trener for Comet Halden i norsk ishockey.
