Cape Verde's Vozinha signs with Chile's most decorated football club
Cape Verde’s veteran goalkeeper Vozinha arrived in Chile on August 2nd to join first division club Colo-Colo, the Chilean football club announced on August 3rd. The 40-year-old has joined on a six-month contract, with the possibility of a one-year extension. Chilean media said he was likely to make his debut on August 16. Matthew Stafford: Practice is as high quality as I've been around
The Rams opened up their offseason by making a pair of moves to improve their cornerback group and the impact was on display during Monday's practice.
Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson had highlight moments by breaking up passes from Matthew Stafford to wideouts Davante Adams and Puka Nacua. The offense rebounded with touchdown passes to both receivers before the defense came up with more strong plays on a back-and-forth day at Rams camp.
After it was over, Stafford said it was the best practice work he's seen since entering the NFL in 2009.
"There was a a lot of high quality plays out there, plays that in the books will go down as good for the offense, and in the books it'll go down as good for the defense," Stafford said, via the team's website. "Sometimes you just tip your cap. . . . as high quality of practice football as I've been around."
All of that played out without defensive end Myles Garrett on the field due to lower body soreness and adding him to the riches that were already on display makes it easy to understand why the Rams are one of the favorites heading into the 2026 season.

Cody Gakpo’s performances went south last season and now his entire personage might follow, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly preparing an offer in the region of £70m to bring him to north London. There appears to be some mixed messages floating around about this potential deal. The Mail say Liverpool “have no plans to sell Gakpo” and that “it would take a huge sum to change their stance”, but these things are fluid. The Athletic say “Liverpool have no intention of selling”, but also, and in the same sentence, that they “would judge his value relative to other deals this summer, including Morgan Rogers’ transfer to Chelsea”. So, in short, Spurs will have to whip out their recently-discovered XXL chequebook if they want to get this one over the line.
Talking about Chelsea, “multiple Premier League clubs” have contacted them to ask about the availability of Mykhailo Mudryk, recently freed from a doping ban, says the Mirror. They name only one of them: Coventry City, coached by two-time former Stamford Bridge manager Frank Lampard. The Sun specify that “two more Prem sides are believed to have enquired, while there is interest from three clubs in Europe”. The Mirror’s report on the battle for the Ukrainian’s services is inevitably, but pleasingly, headlined “Mud Fight”.
