If things hold there, general manager Darren Mougey and the Jets front office could have plenty of options to consider when turning in their selection cards.

One of the major decisions that FC Barcelona have to make heading into the final weeks of the season concerns the future of Robert Lewandowski.

The 37-year-old striker’s contract expires on June 30, and so far, everything indicates that his time at the club could be coming to an end.

Reports in Spain have suggested that Barça have sent a contract offer to the Polish forward, who is not happy with the terms being offered, as it requires him to take a major pay cut.

No formal offer yet

However, according to Nil Sola on SER, despite reports in recent weeks, Lewandowski has not received any formal proposal, either verbal or written, from Barcelona to extend his contract for an additional season.

As per the report, not only is there no concrete offer on the table, but no one from the club has contacted the veteran superstar to outline what his role in the team would be if he were to remain at the Camp Nou for another year.

The forward has previously rejected highly lucrative offers, both before joining Barcelona and during his time at the club. What he prioritises is the sporting project and the role he would play within it.

Lewandowski wants to feel important and valued within the team. This does not mean he expects to be an undisputed starter in every match, but he does want to maintain a significant role in the project.

Seeking transparency

In this regard, the striker finds it unusual that, at this stage, there have been no discussions with Barcelona to define that role.

Lewandowski is seeking transparency. He is known for his direct approach, as demonstrated during his time at Bayern Munich, when he pushed for a move in order to join Barcelona. While the current situation is different, his need for clarity remains unchanged.

Sources close to the player make it clear that remaining at Barcelona as a symbolic figure, without real sporting prominence, is not an appealing option.

The Polish forward believes he still has much to offer and is looking to be part of a project in which he feels genuinely important.

Stribling, a 6-foot-2 receiver, had a strong senior season with Ole Miss, hauling in 55 catches for 811 yards and five touchdowns. The former Washington State and Oklahoma State standout brings a blend of size and speed to the table, running a 4.36-second 40-yard dash.

While he is a crisp route runner with strong acceleration, scouts note he struggles to make plays in traffic and needs to be more physical against press coverage. He is viewed as a potential Day 2 or 3 addition for the Saints to address their depth issues beyond Chris Olave.
