49ers' Stribling Out With Hamstring Tightness
The 49ers placed Ricky Pearsall on injured reserve Saturday, and now Stribling's absence further depletes their receiving corps. The team clarified that Stribling is not dealing with a strain, just tightness. Veteran Christian Kirk has also been missing practice with a calf injury. newsbetting.bond
Stribling, the first pick of the second round this year, has earned rave reviews from quarterback Brock Purdy during early workouts. While a brief absence likely won't affect his playing plans, extended time off the field would hinder his potential early impact with the team.
Transfer news: Welbeck joins Chelsea, Brentford complete record Sangaré deal
35-year-old Brighton striker Welbeck seals £5m move
Mali international Sangaré joins Bees for reported £39m
Chelsea have signed Brighton’s veteran striker Danny Welbeck in a deal worth a reported £5m. Welbeck has agreed a two-year contract and will link up with Xabi Alonso’s squad on their pre-season tour.
The 35-year-old’s move to Stamford Bridge is a break from Chelsea’s policy of signing younger players with the potential to be developed. It is the first time they have paid a transfer fee for a player over the age of 26 since they signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona in 2022 when the striker was 33.

Brandon Beane: C.J. Gardner-Johnson will have an MRI and we'll see
Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson left Saturday's practice on a cart after suffering what appeared to be an injury to his lower right leg and there's no immediate word as to the severity of the injury.
Gardner-Johnson was not contacted before the injury and got on the cart after a brief examination on the field. After the practice, General Manager Brandon Beane said that further word on his outlook would wait for testing.
“I don’t know anything yet. Until we get an MRI, we’ll see," Beane said, via John Wawrow of the Associated Press.
The Bills signed Gardner-Johnson as a free agent this offseason and he was set to play a big role in the team's secondary, so any bad news on the MRI will lead to some shuffling on the back end of the defense in Buffalo.
Evenepoel Wins 4th San Sebastián Classic
Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel overcame early difficulties including a puncture and disputes with race officials to claim his fourth consecutive Clásica de San Sebastián title. The victory breaks Marino Lejarreta's 30-year-old record of three wins in the prestigious Spanish race.
Despite starting the crucial Erlaitz climb 36 seconds behind the leaders, Evenepoel demonstrated his dominance by bridging the gap and securing the win. Competitors including Richard Carapaz and the UAE team failed to capitalize on Evenepoel's initial disadvantage as he powered to another impressive victory.
