Morocco Star Out for France Clash

Morocco must face France without their offensive midfielder Ismael Saibari in Friday's World Cup quarterfinal. The 25-year-old, who scored in all three group stage matches and the decisive penalty against the Netherlands, is still struggling with an injury he picked up against Canada in the round of 16.

Coach Mohamed Ouahb confirmed Saibari's absence at a pre-match press conference. Morocco is seeking revenge after losing 0-2 to France in the 2022 World Cup semifinals. The winner of this match will advance to face either Spain or Belgium in the semifinals.

Gout Gout out of World U20 Championships

Australian sprint sensation Gout Gout has been ruled out of the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships after suffering a serious hamstring tear during training in Brisbane. The 18-year-old, who had set his sights on becoming a 200m under-20 world champion in August, will be sidelined for the rest of the year.

Omayma Joins Morocco National Team
