Egypt FA Plans ‘Dual National Recruitment Committee’

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) plans to create a committee to coordinate the recruitment of players holding dual nationality.
The proposed body would oversee cases across every national-team age group. The EFA is reportedly considering former players for places on the committee. milkshakeslot.online
Members would compile a database of Egyptian players based abroad. They would also track eligible prospects in foreign academies and senior leagues.
The committee would contact players and their families to determine their interest in representing Egypt. It would then help them complete the required eligibility documents.
This approach would give the EFA a unified recruitment policy. It would also prevent different national team staff from handling cases separately.
The EFA previously established a Committee for Egyptian Players Abroad in July 2025, chaired by EFA president Hany Abo Rida, which included board members and technical officials.
Abo Rida previously addressed the federation’s dual-national scouting programme in January. He said officials wanted to identify eligible players for Egypt’s teams at different age levels.
He also acknowledged shortcomings in the process and said the project needed time to produce results. The latest proposal appears to expand and standardise that work.
Haissem Hassan’s integration into the senior team has added momentum to the project. The Real Oviedo winger represented Egypt at the 2026 World Cup after the EFA completed his eligibility process.
Scouts are said to have since prepared a report on eight more dual-national players. The list reportedly includes Liverpool prospect Kareem Ahmed, Hertha Berlin’s Selim Taleb, and Hamburg defender Omar Abdelmeguid.
The federation has already introduced several overseas prospects to Egypt’s youth teams. Kareem Ahmed, Cam’ron Ismail, and Radwan Hamzawi previously joined the U20 setup through that recruitment drive.
The immediate next step for the EFA now will be to determine the committee’s exact authority. It must also define how the panel will work with coaches when assessing and approaching eligible players.

Five Gulf national teams- Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman- will compete for three direct berths to the continental championship.
The tournament will be played in a single round-robin format, with the top three teams advancing to the FIBA U18 Asia Cup. The event is expected to feature highly competitive matchups that highlight the continued growth of Gulf basketball at the youth level.

The tournament will tip off on Saturday, July 25, with Kuwait facing Oman, followed by Saudi Arabia taking on Bahrain.
The stakes extend well beyond qualification for the FIBA U18 Asia Cup.

Besiktas President Confirms Salah Talks, Denies Final Deal

Besiktas president Serdal Adalı confirmed negotiations with Mohamed Salah are active, but that the sides have not yet reached an agreement.
Adalı said Salah’s representatives increased their financial demands after reports claimed the move had already been completed.
“There is no completed transfer yet,” Adalı said. “We rejected [the revised demands]. Our talks are continuing.”
Adalı claimed that the reports prompted Salah’s representatives to change their figures. He said they wanted to take the package to “astronomical” levels.
However, the Besiktas president said the club and Salah had reached an understanding on the other aspects of the proposed move.
“We love Salah and agree with the player on every issue,” Adalı added. He also stressed that the club would protect their financial interests.
His latest comments suggest that the financial package remains the main obstacle.
His latest remarks follow a strongly worded Besiktas statement aimed at Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu.
The club called Sabuncuoğlu’s reporting about their transfer work and the proposed terms “pure fiction”. It also accused him of misleading the public with fabricated stories.
Salah’s representative, Ramy Abbas, had also previously rejected suggestions that the player had chosen his next club.
“I personally do not know where Mohamed will play next season,” Abbas wrote on Friday. Adding that the forward’s camp would not hold talks with unwanted clubs merely to generate publicity.

Russell out of Belgian GP after colliding with Hamilton on lap one
Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium: Mercedes driver George Russell crashed out of the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday after colliding with Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton on the first lap at Spa-Francorchamps.
During a spectacular opening lap featuring several overtaking moves among the leaders, Russell collided with fellow Briton Lewis Hamilton at the Combes corner and spun out into the gravel.
Unable to rejoin the race, Russell, who is second in the world championship, after wins in Australia and Austria, leaves Belgium empty-handed.
This is a major blow to Russell's championship campaign, especially given that his teammate Kimi Antonelli was comfortably leading the race after 11 of the 44 laps.
The Italian went into the race with a 25-point lead over Russell, the equivalent to a Grand Prix victory.
Hamilton, meanwhile, received a five-second penalty for the collision.
