Texas A&M resets lineup as star junior OF returns vs. Lamar

No. 23 Texas A&M baseball (7–0) rolls into its third week of the season unbeaten and coming off its second sweep of the year, holding Penn to just three total runs across the weekend. Now the Aggies turn their attention to a talented Lamar squad eager to secure a signature early‑season win over a Top 25 opponent.

A&M continues to navigate a handful of minor injuries, forcing some early lineup reshuffling. Caden Sorrell, Chris Hacopian, and Wesley Jordan have all missed time, but none of the issues are considered long‑term. True to Michael Earley’s assessment, Sorrell returned to the lineup tonight, and with underclassmen producing at a high level, holding out Jordan and Hacopian in the midweek gives both additional recovery time before the schedule stiffens.

Tuesday marks the 42nd meeting between the programs, with the Aggies holding a commanding 33–8 advantage. The Aggies won last year’s matchup 13–6 and will look to maintain that momentum while continuing to sharpen their identity ahead of SEC play.
