Fox Creek, North Augusta moving on to SCHSL Semi-Finals

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WJBF)- South Carolina High School League teams are inching that much closer to a state championship. But first, they have to get through the quarterfinals.

The North Augusta girl’s basketball team cruised past Gray Collegiate, grabbing the 60-28 win. They’re moving on to 4A semi-finals at the Florence Center.

“It tells us that we have to continue to get to practice and work hard and continue to get better. I was really proud of the girls, I thought that they came back in the second half, and they played extremely well. That’s what we want, and that’s what we expect,” said North Augusta head coach Al Young.

Tip-off is set for Friday, 3:30 p.m.

Then over to the Fox Creek boys, they faced off against Loris in a quarterfinal’s re-match from a season ago. Despite the Lion’s comeback, the Predators pulled off the 70-66 victory, and advance to the 3A semi-finals under head coach Tim Butler.

“It felt good, especially being home. We’ve been undefeated at home all year long, that’s a big accomplishment for the guys. Our student section, our faculty, our staff did a tremendous job out here supporting us, I’m just glad that we got the win,” Butler said.

Fox Creek plays on Saturday, at 3:30 p.m.
