Year after year, the nation's best high school receivers find a way to immediately make an impact at the college level once their high school career has come to an end.
From the highly rated prospects like Jeremiah Smith to underrated prospects such as Malachi Toney, there's no shortage of elite wide receiver prospects throughout the country.
What about the best of the best in the 2027 class?
USA TODAY High School Sports kicked off spring scouting with a focus on quarterbacks, then running backs. Here's a look at the top 10 wide receivers in the 2027 class.
1. Jamier Brown
School: Big Walnut (Sunbury, OH)
Height: 5-11
Weight: 192
Commitment Status: Ohio State
Summary: Brown's a long-time Buckeyes pledge committing to the program in late 2024. During his junior season, he led the Greater Western Ohio Conference with 73 receptions for 1,009 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also recorded four special teams touchdowns and two rushing scores.
2. Easton Royal
School: Brother Martin (New Orleans, LA)
Height: 5-11
Weight: 185
Commitment Status: Texas
Summary: Royal committed to the Longhorns last summer but that doesn't mean he won't take official visits to other schools during the summer. He's currently slated to visit Tennessee on June 5, Florida on June 11 and a trip back to Austin on June 19.
3. Monshun Sales
School: Lawrence North (Indianapolis, IN)
Height: 6-5
Weight: 195
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: A big and speedy weapon outside for the Wildcats, Sales led Lawrence North in receptions during his junior season with 37 receptions for 794 yards and 9 touchdowns. On defense, he also tallied 56 tackles.
4. Nick Lennear
School: Miami Carol City (Opa Locka, FL)
Height: 5-11
Weight: 165
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: A two-way standout, Lennear flashed his abilities on the biggest stage last season, catching six passes for 135 yards and a touchdown in the Sunshine State 3A championship. He also recorded an interception in the game.
5. Kesean Bowman
School: Brentwood Academy (Brentwood, TN)
Height: 6-1
Weight: 174
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: A former Oregon pledge, Bowman played a pivotal role in leading the Eagles to the Division II-AAA championship game in Tennessee. Last year, he caught a team-high 49 passes for 665 yards and 11 touchdowns.
6. Eric McFarland
School: Brother Martin (New Orleans, La.)
Height: 5-11.5
Weight: 165
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: Electric is the best way to describe McFarland's style of play. Standing at 5-foot-8, he caught 29 passes for 595 yards and 11 touchdowns at IMG last year. He also reclassified from the 2028 class to 2027 last December.
7. Dakota Guerrant
School: Harper Woods (Mich.)
Height: 6-1
Weight: 195
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: Guerrant broke onto the scene during his sophomore season, totaling over 1,600 all-purpose yards and 23 touchdowns. A 6-foot-1, 195-pounder, Oregon appears to be the front-runner at this point in his recruitment as a trip to Eugene was the only visit he took in January.
8. Quentin Hale
School: Centennial (Corona, Calif.)
Height: 6-3
Weight: 175
Commitment Status: USC
Summary: Hale is a recent USC pledge committing to the Trojans on February 20. He is a recent transfer to Centennial following a junior season at Los Angeles Cathedral, where he caught 62 passes for 872 yards and 12 touchdowns.
9. Osani Gayles
School: IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)
Height: 5-11.5
Weight: 185
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: Gayles may not be the biggest player on the field, but he still found more than enough ways to impact a loaded IMG offense. He caught 20 passes for 492 yards and five touchdowns in nine games.
10. Julian Caldwell
School: Argyle (Texas)
Height: 6-0
Weight: 185
Commitment Status: Uncommitted
Summary: Caldwell was the top receiving option for an Eagles team that threw for nearly 4,000 yards. He led the team with 94 receptions for 1,737 yards and 20 touchdowns.
