Paris Mayoral Candidate Makes Her Pitch to Keep PSG at Parc des Princes

As written in her campaign platform, LR candidate for Paris mayor Rachida Dati repeated in recent hours her intention, if elected, to negotiate the sale of the Parc des Princes to PSG in exchange for the creation of a "Parc PSG."

Just over a month before the first round of the 2026 municipal elections in France, scheduled for March 15. And in Paris, the campaign is in full swing and everyone is making their promises and taking their little digs at the competition. The subject of the sale of the Parc des Princes to PSG is not the one that occupies the most media space, but almost all candidates for mayor of Paris have taken a position, as you can read in the summary article below.

Favorable to the sale of the Parc des Princes, like her main competitor Emmanuel Gregoire (Union of the Left), Rachida Dati (Les Republicains) wrote this in her official platform: "I will keep PSG in Paris, and will create a project for a great modern sports city to make Parisian sport shine globally! I will negotiate the sale of the Parc des Princes to PSG in exchange for the creation of a sports and cultural village 'Parc PSG' around the stadium, in connection with sports associations in the area, so that the club remains in Paris and that it benefits Parisians."

On her social networks, Rachida Dati doubled down in recent hours: "The Parc des Princes is outdated. Either we do nothing and PSG leaves Paris. Or we act and we negotiate. I choose to sell to the club to modernize the site in exchange for the creation of a large sports and cultural hub. We must keep PSG - Paris Saint-Germain in Paris, at the Parc."

For the moment, PSG has not reacted publicly or through the press to this electoral promise, nor to those of other candidates. The club, which has undertaken steps for several months to study the construction of a new stadium in Massy or Poissy, has never completely ruled out the hypothesis of staying at the Parc des Princes, while sending the message that it also did not want to waste more time. In this case, the club is not pressed for time either and the second round of the municipal elections will take place on March 22. The opportunity to quickly verify the sincerity of the promises of the various candidates.
