Kansas City Chiefs Connected to Electrifying All-Pro Receiver

The Kansas City Chiefs fell well short of expectations last season, missing the playoffs for the first time since Patrick Mahomes joined the team in 2017. Now after making a few coaching changes, it’s time for the Chiefs to focus on improving a roster that has been to the conference championship in seven of the past eight seasons.

One potential solution could be to add another playmaker to Patrick Mahomes‘ stable, and an electrifying deep threat just became available.

According to ESPN’s NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Chiefs could be in play for a reunion with the recently released Tyreek Hill.

“Hill is one of the rare players who has maintained his elite speed into his 30s — speed that kept him among the game’s elite pass catchers. His significant knee injury could jeopardize that speed, and Hill himself didn’t shy away from the notion of retirement back in October. But Hill might just be the unique player who can recover from this and continue to make plays. A potential return to Kansas City has to be mentioned. The Chiefs’ offense hasn’t quite been the same since the franchise traded Hill in 2022.”

Hill is a free agent right now, meaning the Chiefs could add him well before the new league year kicks off on March 11, when players whose contracts have expired can be inked to new deals.

However, there will likely be several suitors for the electrifying playmaker who has earned a Pro Bowl nod in eight of his 10 seasons of play. Though, with Hill coming off a torn ACL and knee dislocation, some teams could be hesitant to commit to a 31-year-old receiver who was limited to just four games last season and now has something to prove.

Just two seasons removed from his career-best 1,799-yard season, if Hill can show teams he’s healthy again, it shouldn’t be tough for him to find a starting job with a new team, and the Chiefs just might be the ideal fit.
