The Fangraphs top 100 prospect list for 2026 is out, and the Texas Rangers have a surprisingly impressive showing, with five prospects making the cut.

Well, technically, only four Rangers prospects are in the top 100, but Fangraphs’ top 100 lists run a little over 100 because they include every prospect who hits the grade threshold of the #100 player — in this case, a 50 FV or better. This year we have 110 prospects who make the cut.

Sebastian Walcott is the highest ranked Ranger, at #30 — a little lower than where most other places have him, due to both the UCL injury that is costing him the bulk of the 2026 season and a few concerns that have arisen after his AA season.

Yolfran Castillo and Caden Scarborough are #70 and #71 on the list, respectively. Scarborough has gotten a lot of run, so him being in the top 100 is no big surprise, but I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else as bullish on Castillo, a shortstop who just turned 19 a few days and and who was a 2024 international signee. Castillo split the 2025 season between the ACL and Hickory, playing shortstop and third base and slashing .258/.315/.352 while going 29 for 31 on the basepaths.

A pair of righthanded starters on the 40 man roster round out the Rangers representation — David Davalillo, at #89, and Winston Santos, at #103.
