The two most likely defenders sold by Chelsea this summer seem obvious after Rosenior reshuffle

Chelsea are apparently ready to sell off some of their central defensive options in the summer – but who will it be?

Reports this morning have claimed that Chelsea are considered three of their central defenders as potentially for sale this summer, as they work out how to fit in new addition Mamadou Sarr as well as Levi Colwill when he returns from injury.

It does make sense that Chelsea would sell a defender in the summer. By then we will have a really deep roster in that position – Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile, Mamadou Sarr, Levi Colwill, Tosin Adarabioyo, Josh Acheampong. That’s before any new signings are considered.

Axel Disasi we’re not even counting as he will surely be moved on permanently.

Of that group, Tosin feels like the most likely to go. He’s the oldest, and as he was signed on a free, any money that comes in is “pure profit.”

After him, Badiashile is probably next. He’s not been able to stay consistently fit and find form in his time at Chelsea, and recent weeks seem to have shown he’s right at the bottom of Liam Rosenior’s pecking order.

The setup next year could be Fofana and Cowill as the first pair, Sarr and Chalobah as the second, with Acheampong as the versatile young backup.

In other news…

Another player being linked to the Blues is Murillo of Nottingham Forest. He’s got a lot of positives in his game, but one big weakness too.

Cole Palmer has seen his form improving steadily in the last few games, and he’s now in the top 5 in the Premier League for two very important attacking stats.

Chelsea also have been linked with Juventus defender Gleison Bremer. His stats are great, but at his age and price it’s just not a deal we can see happening.
